Sneak Peek

My, how time passes so fast!  Being busy with school really makes the days fly by, especially with midterm week.  Thought I’d give a sneak peek preview of what I’ll be wearing tomorrow.  Luckily, it’s been warm enough the last few days that I’ll be able to wear something light.

And, of course, the shoes are to die for! They may be a little bit too small on one foot, but I love them!  I love flats for summer, possibly because no matter how much I love heels, I still can’t seem to walk in them as gracefully as I would like.

Till next time!

A Little Spring Cleaning

Going through my closet, and a little laundry bundle during spring cleaning, I found some items that I had forgotten about! Some items will go to the thrift store, as I have no more use for them, but some of them, I will hopefully be wearing during summer!

This is the bag I used to use for my school books, but i have recently upgraded to a bigger bag, as this semester I seem to have quite a few more than i would like to carry!  I remember I got this bag from Forever 21 and absolutely loved it!

As you can see, I have yet to wear this t-shirt, as I haven’t taken the tag off yet!  I found this in a thrift store, and thought it would be something of a birthday present for my sister.  It kind of weirdly reminds me of that Sydney White movie.  (As I just recently googled the quote, I did not know there was a festival called ‘Power to the Peaceful’)

This is an item, originally from Forever 21, I believe, that I picked form the Blogger Sale held last month in Vancouver.  Nice and breezy for summer wear.

Thats some of the most interesting items I found in my closet from spring cleaning!  Tip: although it is sad to let items go, and donate them, the thought of new items also coming back is an awesome feeling.

Spring is in the Air

Its been a few days since I last posted, but with school starting up again after break, it is getting busy, but fun!  I bought a few things at the store today (let’s be honest, it was a thrift store).  The thing I like about thrift stores, such as Value Village, is that you never know what you’ll find; one thing I like is that what you may find, no one else has, which can be good to set yourself apart from everybody else.  Not wearing that same thing as the person next to you, or anybody else for that matter, can make people take notice.

So I picked up a few things, one of them being a simple black shirt, which I won’t post a picture on, because it’s not that exciting; i have a few volunteering events coming up, and I’m to wear just black.

Here’s the first thing I found: a bracelet, only 3.99; More the kind of bracelet for dinners with friends, but still really nice.

The next is a heart-shaped pendant, though it didn’t come with the necklace part, I do have an extra piece for that, and hopefully I’ll be able to send to my sister in time for Easter!

The next item is more of a piece that I remember seeing in a movie a few years ago (and some of you Buffy fans may know what it is); it is a Claddaugh ring.  The idea is that, when worn on the right ring finger, with the heart pointing towards the fingernail, you are not attached to anyone, but when flipped, and the heart goes up towards the arm, it means you are being ‘courted’, or otherwise dating someone.  When worn on the left ring finger, it signifies that you are married.  I thought that the idea of this Irish tradition was so unique, different, and neat, that when I saw this I was interested in it. It’s not fancy, but it looks nice; I have seen some with a diamond in place of the heart as well.

Lastly, I recently picked up the latest edition of Vogue, and I think, of all one that i have read, it is my favourite, especially the article on the Ritz, and Kate Moss wearing the couture gowns…oh my goodness.  Everytime I see these images, it takes my breathe away!  But this article isn’t just about the dresses; it’s about the history of the Ritz, and the people who have passed through its walls.  Reading on the different experiences of people who have visited there, such as Andre Leon Talley, and paired with pictures of its employees (or rather, family), it really added a personal touch that I enjoyed reading about.  Did i mention the pictures are absolutely breathtaking?  Definitely a must-read!  (both pictures from Vogue)

This picture almost reminds me of the one of Audrey Hepburn, dressed in the outfit that she wore in the first scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, holding a long cigarette holder.

Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!

Vancouver Fashion Blogger Sale!

Hello everyone!

First of all, before I begin, I want to thank all fashion bloggers who were at this blogger event! Im still an ‘amateur’ blogger, but seeing these girls who have stuck with it for a long time, and post on their blog, it was really nice to meet them, and say hi!  The bloggers there were really nice, and I had a lot of fun!  Looking at the items now, I see little price tags on them that are decoratively designed by the blogger, adding a little uniqueness to it.  There was one blogger who commented on my blue jeans, as there were a few other people who were wearing the same colour – the comment made me feel better about them, because I was unsure when I chose to wear them this morning!  I’ll leave the websites of the bloggers who the clothing is from just in case you want to go and check it out!  For OOTD:

Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: Garage, Oxfords: TopShop, Socks: Forever21

Now, as for the best part: I snatched up a few clothing items, and most of them were all under $20, which is a pretty good deal.  I found this one bright red-orange top that is quite bright, but will look so good for summer!  The shirt is from miss-melissa.com, and originally from Forever 21.  I got it for a cool $10.  Thank you!

This white sweater, with detailed black beading along the neckline is from cocoandvera (cocoandvera.blogspot.com), originally from BCBG Max Azria, and I snatched it for $20; it’d look nice with those blue jeans and the oxfords I wore today!

This light beige coloured layered light sweater from Coco And Vera, cocoandvera.blogspot.com, has white beading detail.  This will look absolutely amazing with the dresses I recently got from H&M!

This thin light top is quite thin, so I’ll have to wear a tank top over it, but for summer when it gets hot in Vancouver, it’ll look really nice.  This was from Alicia Fashionista, aliciafashionista.com, she was really nice and I also got a few nice scarves from her, for only $5 each! Thanks!!

This bracelet from  The Doctors Closet is quite simple, but the one jewelled bead looks unique!  I also snagged a Chanel necklace!  I’ll be honest, I don’t know how to tell if what I see is fake or not, but honestly, I don’t care! I love the necklace, and it looks great!  The Doctors Closet also sell their own bracelets, which look pretty cool; the promo pictures are absolutely amazing (such as blowing the glitter at the camera), and you can buy these on etsy.com!  Go and check out thedoctorscloset.com

Thank you to all the bloggers who put this together; it was really nice meeting other bloggers who share that passion in fashion, and style!

The card above, from Love and Mark’d by Olivia Lovenmark, from stylestruck.com, you can buy these on etsy; I absolutely love these cards, their so simple and elegant.  I received this one in a gift bag, as being one of fifty people who arrived early.

Thank you!

Sunny’s Afternoon

Unfortunately it was a gloomy, rainy morning today, but I decided to bring out a little colour, and wore a dress with a blazer.  Added with a little key necklace, and bracelet, spring better come soon!

Last week, I found a nifty pair of glasses that remind me a little of Elle Fanning’s bright coloured frames.  Only thing is I have to find the glass part for them.  But their still awesome!

Vancouver Visits – The Bay

Despite having lived in Vancouver for a little over 6 months, I must admit, I have never visited The Bay at Pacific Centre until today, and I’m happy I walked in!  The first thing I did was go to the second floor, where they have Topshop merchandise, which I had heard they had, but never checked out.  Oh my, it was like heaven.  The styles were different than what I normally wear, but after looking around for 2 minutes, I found something that I could not pass up: Oxford Shoes!

I almost burst in joy, having been looking for flat oxford shoes like these for so long, and found these in the Topshop shoe aisle.  I think I’ve died and gone to heaven.

They only had three shoes left, and luckily they had my size, which isn’t always the easiest to find as I do have quite big feet.  I then ventured downward to the bottom level, and found some Material Girl jewelry.

This is actual an ear cuff design, which Ive been seeing a bit of lately.  And lastly, a feather design bracelet with a single diamond attached.

Excited for this weekend, as I have some family coming down to visit, who I haven’t seen too often in the last seven months.  Have a good weekend everyone!

Morning Bright

I have recently discovered some makeup products, and have been using them in my daily routine, and since then, I have cut off about 6 extra minutes form my routine, just from not applying full foundation to my face.  The ladies at Mac are always so friendly when I walk in, I just love going there sometimes on a bad day.

I first prep my face with Makeup Forever HD High Definition Primer, and instead of foundation I have been using Mac’s Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Light Plus, which helps to even out my skin tone quite well, and reduce redness, but not before using Mac’s Studio Sculpt Concealer in NW15 if needed.  I then apply NYX blush in Peach, a lovely pink colour, and top it off with Mac’s Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle, using that as a highlight.  I turn to Mac’s Blacktrack, as it stays on all day, for lining the top lash line.  Lastly, I use NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Taupe/Ash.  I’ve come to find that I like using powder rather than foundation on my face, and now with summer vastly approaching, I don’t have to worry about if the foundation will sweat off my face.
